It sounds like you have an issue with your Breakaway Kit # 20099. This is where the power is coming from to lock your trailer brakes when it is not connected to your vehicle 7-way. You will want to check to ensure the disconnect is fully seated and the wiring for it is not damaged. I spoke with Curt and was told to not even bother using the weigh distribution setup application of the BetterWeigh Mobile Tongue Weight and Payload Scale for OBD II # C51701 since it's not usually the most accurate and to just follow the instructions for the weight distribution hitch instead.
